“We do not remember days, we remember moments.”
Cesare Pavese

Whatever may be the reason of your journey to Central Europe, visiting Slovakia will definitely make your travel list special.

Often overlooked by guidebooks, Slovakia offers you a unique and memorable experience with no crowds of tourists which will let you enjoy the real local life.

So, lets collect a few moments with us and

3 Reasons why we are the best choice for you!

We will show you the real local life

Nowadays you can get a lot of information about the history, cities, buildings from different sources. But life is something you have to experience.

We work with small groups of up to 8 people

It is important for us that every one of our activities is as unique and suitable for your personality as possible.

You don’t have to think about anything

We believe that it is us, locals, who are best qualified to show you what is worth experiencing instead of expecting that you are coming with all the information about what to see in our country.

What will we do?

There are 3 packages which include nature, cuisine and traditions and you can find interactive or passive activities in all of them.
The interactive activities require your active participation, so we will go hiking together, learn how to cook Slovak traditional food or learn some traditional dance 🙂
We will return to simplicity and traditions by visiting farms and ranches, going back to activities which were taken from us by the civilisation of a city.
If you are not ready to leave your comfort zone just yet for some reason or you are under a time pressure, we will be happy to show you a simpler version of our activities but still ensure the feeling of exploring our country.

How it works

We have prepared a short questionnaire for you. Based on your answers we will prepare an itinerary tailored to your needs together with the pricelist.
Of course, we can still adjust it according to your wishes so that you will get to see and do everything in order to understand our culture.

About Us

About Us

We are sisters who were lucky to travel to many interesting places in the world.
Although travelling became an addiction to us and we are still looking for other places to go to, we love our beautiful and peaceful country.

For several years we were active dancers of a local ensemble and in winter, ski instructors in the mountains.
We are of the opinion that the diversity of traditions, folklore and the nature is the best our country has to offer.

On our journeys we were constantly hoping to meet some local people, who would involve us in the local life and show us the real picture of the country.

And that’s why we have decided to use our experience and create the best adventure for you.

WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT US

“I had a unique opportunity of experiencing the Slovakian culture for real! Usually when you travel you only get to see attractions that are specifically made for tourist but in this case it all was just AUTHENTIC! I would only trust Katarina and her team to show me The Heart of Europe and I hope she expands her pation to other countries as well!”
Daniel, Venezuela

“Katarina and her partner are amazing! They are fun, passionate, and made me feel comfortable. I loved hearing their knowledge on the dances, costumes, and traditions of Slovakia. After the class I could do a few basic moves and now understand how traditional dance is done today in Slovakia. I am only sad that I can’t dance with them more often!”
Janelle, New York, U.S

“Beautiful, random, cultural day in Slovakia.
Hiked up 2km up a mountain I can’t pronounce that transforms into a skiing village in Winter. Had lunch at a restaurant halfway up the mountain, where to celebrate friends and guests we drank 40% proof shots. And finish the day with some dress ups in traditional Slovak dancing costumes. Perfect!”
Kevin, Australia

“Have never came across to such an astonishing hospitality ever from anyone to date. A big thank you to you both for being a good friends, to be a good guide every time I ever endeavored to explore Slovakia. It was an amazing time right from moving across the streets of Kosice (known as second largest city in Slovakia) to explore the pubs; food joints; traditional cuisines and ancient places. Every time it was one of the sisters who would excitingly explain history; the purpose; the need and detailed info about it.
Will always miss the never-ending talks on cross country tradition and discussion around traditional dance, Slovakian drinks, Slovak language and what not. Will never grow out from the memory lane of Slovakia and dear friends like “the sisters.”
Abhijeet, India

“Slovakia is a beautiful and peaceful place, with gorgeous scenery, nice people and rich folklore culture. We like Slovak dance, music and costumes and we can feel Slovaks are so proud of their culture and nation. Though we had just been few places in Slovakia, we enjoy the living pace and environment here, and also enjoy to meet Slovaks, they are very nice.”
Iris, Hong Kong

“I loved my time in Slovakia and it is entirely thanks to Katarina and Zuzana. I got to see something else than the classic tourist-things. I would never have been able to experience the amazing culture in such an authentic and true way without them showing me and teaching me about Slovakian traditions, food, culture and people. I got to meet local people who became my friends. I will never forget my stay there, and I can’t wait to go back to the interesting and beautiful country of Slovakia now! na zdravie!”
Ida, Sweden

“My first real contact with Slovak culture was through their traditional costumes. The first time I saw them was at an international festival in Ireland and I fell in love with their colors, their designs, their embroidery, their textures, their ornaments and, definitely, their different hats.
After that, I started traveling almost every year to the different regions of Slovakia and I am very interested in getting to know each day more and more, and immersing myself in their world. The Slovaks are open and generous people, and they have taught me to dance a bit of their folk dances, they have invited me to their homes and to participate in various festivities. That is something that I will continue to do the rest of my life.
I am a Mexican diplomat who travels around the world but I never found a country that had such cultural wealth in such a small territory. Thank you Katarina,  Martin, Zuzana, thank you all my dear Slovak friends, you all have made this great experience, my heart belongs to you.”
Francisco, Mexico

“I stayed a couple days with the two sisters Zuzana and Katarina with whom I had an amazing time. Once they showed me the beautiful and historical heart of Kosice, we continued on a small trip to the surroundings. If I could have stayed longer we would have gone to the mountains which I would love to do when I come back – what I definitely will. Even throughout my short stay I got to meet many nice people (besides them) through them and they proved me that Kosice is beautiful at day and night 🙂 I had the pleasure to taste traditional slovakian food in places I would have never discovered by myself and we enjoyed the best coffee in town. With them I was in best hands I am very grateful for their kindness.”
Ellen, Germany

“I have spent one week in Slovakia with Katarina and Zuzana! It has been one of my favourite experiences so far! These two ladies know so much about the history and the culture both of Kosice and the country in general! They have been very welcoming and turned my holiday into an amazing memory, I will forever be grateful to the sisters for making me feel like a Slovak!
I would recommend them to anyone thinking about visiting the country.”
