“I had a unique opportunity of experiencing the Slovakian culture for real! Usually when you travel you only get to see attractions that are specifically made for tourist but in this case it all was just AUTHENTIC! “Beautiful, random, cultural day in Slovakia.
Hiked up 2km up a mountain I can’t pronounce that transforms into a skiing village in Winter. Had lunch at a restaurant halfway up the mountain, where to celebrate friends and guests we drank 40% proof shots. And finish the day with some dress ups in traditional Slovak dancing costumes. Perfect!”

“Have never came across to such an astonishing hospitality ever from anyone to date. A big thank you to you both for being a good friends, to be a good guide every time I ever endeavored to explore Slovakia. It was an amazing time right from moving across the streets of Kosice (known as second largest city in Slovakia) to explore the pubs; food joints; traditional cuisines and ancient places. Every time it was one of the sisters who would excitingly explain history; the purpose; the need and detailed info about it.
Will always miss the never-ending talks on cross country tradition and discussion around traditional dance, Slovakian drinks, Slovak language and what not. Will never grow out from the memory lane of Slovakia and dear friends like “the sisters.”

We like Slovak dance, music and costumes and we can feel Slovaks are so proud of their culture and nation. “I loved my time in Slovakia and it is entirely thanks to Katarina and Zuzana. I got to see something else than the classic tourist-things. “My first real contact with Slovak culture was through their traditional costumes. The first time I saw them was at an international festival in Ireland and I fell in love with their colors, their designs, their embroidery, their textures, their ornaments and, definitely, their different hats.
After that, I started traveling almost every year to the different regions of Slovakia and I am very interested in getting to know each day more and more, and immersing myself in their world. The Slovaks are open and generous people, and they have taught me to dance a bit of their folk dances, they have invited me to their homes and to participate in various festivities. That is something that I will continue to do the rest of my life.
I am a Mexican diplomat who travels around the world but I never found a country that had such cultural wealth in such a small territory. Thank you Katarina,  Martin, Zuzana, thank you all my dear Slovak friends, you all have made this great experience, my heart belongs to you.”

“I stayed a couple days with the two sisters Zuzana and Katarina with whom I had an amazing time. Once they showed me the beautiful and historical heart of Kosice, we continued on a small trip to the surroundings. If I could have stayed longer we would have gone to the mountains which I would love to do when I come back – what I definitely will. Even throughout my short stay I got to meet many nice people (besides them) through them and they proved me that Kosice is beautiful at day and night 🙂 I had the pleasure to taste traditional slovakian food in places I would have never discovered by myself and we enjoyed the best coffee in town.
